House to Home is a new program by Topeka Habitat to increase homeownership as well as safety and affordability for individuals in exploitive home buying contracts. This program is designed to stop predatory lending agreements that are taking place through contract for deed type purchasing arrangements. We utilize legal resources the help people negotiate their existing contracts and we will convert those contracts into an affordable mortgage held by Topeka Habitat. In addition, we will provide a grant to make improvements to the home to address safety, energy efficiency, critical repairs and code violations.
