Housing Equity
We are building with intention by centering our work around those most historically impacted by housing practices. Through several programs such as the Advancing Black Homeownership(ABH) initiative, Voices of Women, Pride Build, and Bilingual Access we actively working to break down the barrier to homeownership.
Our Advancing Black Homeownership initiative responds to community feedback, removes barriers to homeownership, and aims to narrow racial disparities in housing.

About the National ABH Initiative through Habitat for Humanity:
Habitat for Humanity International’s vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live, but a structure of intentional and systemic racial discrimination in the U.S. has created barriers to homeownership for many Black families. Systemic discrimination and racism has persisted into present policy, from redlining to inequitable access to mortgage credit. Taken together, these practices are barriers to saving for a down payment, getting a loan and affording a home – and they threaten the vitality and prosperity of every community.
